Welcome to El Shaddai Enterprises! It is my privilege and honour to share this time with you as we journey together and discover the multi-dimensional purposes and benefits that can come from pressing through what I refer to as a “crisis of belief”.
At some point in our lives, all of us will experience one or more crises of belief that will test and challenge the very core of our being and our view of God. It will bring us face to face with what defines us, who we are and what is our God given purpose while here on earth.
Regardless of where we live today, we see evidence of nations, regions, communities, families and individuals in crises of belief…….and the responses to such crises will have long term consequences for ourselves, our children and generations to come.
A “crisis of belief” is not unique to our generation. It has been a common theme throughout the history of mankind and thousands of articles, books and memoirs written on this topic give credence to this statement. It is the stuff that separates the sheep from the goats.
In fact, we see this throughout history, going right back to God’s creation of mankind in the Garden of Eden with Adam and Eve...the heart of the matter. Eve was confronted with a crisis of belief when Satan tempted her to eat the forbidden fruit from the Tree of Knowledge of Good and Evil. There is so much significance in Satan tempting Eve first instead of Adam.
Eve’s actions and Adam’s acquiescence not only took man off course from God’s original design in the Garden, but their own responses to this crisis of belief also introduced doubt and unbelief in what God told them, which has resulted in rebellion against God’s Word throughout history.
Unlike previous generations, we are living in a world today, a global community, that is in constant change and crisis and what seemed true yesterday may quickly become a thing of the past tomorrow. The age of information and technology is upon us and new ideas and innovations are happening at unprecedented rates. The Internet and social media have forever changed the way we conduct business and how we communicate with one another.
And yet, while this may be one of the most exciting and strategic times to live in history, it is also proving to be one of the most chaotic and dangerous times as well. This is particularly evident in the realm of religious, political and racial beliefs and no-one is immune to the heightened intensity in these three realms, regardless of where they live today.
Is this any different from previous generations? All depends on what you believe to be true and the foundation upon which you have built your belief system. While I am not here to debate different belief systems, I am here to speak truth and bring a message of love, hope and passion to those who are in the midst of a crisis of belief.
I look forward to spending more time with you in my next blog posting about what this all means to us as Christians.
